Tom Holland Is Young Nathan Drake in Sony’s “Uncharted” Movie
Tom Holland would be swinging from the MCU to a videogame movie adaptation universe!
The 20-year old English actor had recently been cast to play the young Nathan Drake in the “Uncharted” movie. The film, which takes cues from “Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception” is reported to be a prequel of the game series itself.
A new scriptwriter is now being scouted to develop the young Drake storyline aspect of the film. Despite this, Shawn Levy, director to “Stranger Things” who was previously tasked to rework the drafts done by Mark Boal, David Russell, and David Guggenheim, is still on board for the project.
Holland, who impressed audiences in his iteration of Peter Parker/Spider-Man in 2016’s “Captain America: Civil War” caught the eye of Sony PIctures cheif Tom Rothman. Rothman was reported to have made the casting decision after seeing Holland in the latest cut of MCU’s “Spider-Man: Homecoming”
It might be remembered that the film project had been announced back in 2009. Since then, directors, writers and actors have bowed out of the project. Now, things are looking up, and we would finally get to see Nathan Drake in live action. Sony Pictures have yet to disclose the film’s release date.
