Impatience Does Not Pay: Employees of Nintendo US Distributor Partner Fired For Theft of “Switch” Units
Apparently, certain unnamed parties have been fired in lieu of the Nintendo Switch unboxing video that was released this week. The video creator and NeoGAF user “hiphoptherobot” claimed that he had purchased the Nintendo Switch unit two weeks prior. And since the reports went abuzz, he had declared that he had the unit shipped back to Nintendo, stressing in his following posts that the system had indeed been stolen.
Nintendo had made it clear that the console would be released on March 3rd, thus revealing that the terminations were made due to the theft of a number Nintendo Switch units.
Taken from reliable sources, Nintendo had reported that the illegal transactions were made by individuals employed within one of the company’s US distributor partner.
With the guilty parties already identified and fired, Nintendo is now looking into the necessary legal steps that they might need to take. The reports also stated that Nintendo is trying to determine retailer in connivance with the now jobless individuals.
Nintendo Switch would be priced at $300 upon its launch.
