Cruise is Barry Seal In New Crime/Thriller Biopic
With an acting CV of repute and projects still dropping at his feet, Tom Cruise has definitely not lost his Hollywood luster. Apart from Universal’s first “Dark Universe” entry, “The Mummy”, and the upcoming sequel to “Top Gun”, Cruise stars in this year’s Biographical Crime/Thriller, “American Made”.
Formerly titled, “Mena”, “American Made” follows the life of Barry Seal, a former TWA pilot turned drug smuggler in the 1980s. Later in his life of crime, he is recruited by the DEA as an informant.
Enlisted by the CIA, Seal later on finds himself handling the largest covert CIA operations in American History. The operation birthed the Medellin cartel and almost brought down the Reagan White House.
Cruise is joined by stars, Sarah Wright, Domhnall Gleeson, Jayma Mays, and Jesse Plemons.

Directed by Doug Liman of “The Bourne Identity” fame, “American Made” is set to be released on September 29, 2017 by Universal Pictures.
