Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is a Close-to-Real Spiral Into Madness
Ninja Theory’s “Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice” is an action-adventure, hack and slash video game. Described as an independent AAA game, the story focuses and has a surprising and anxiety-causing take on mental illness.
Set against the backdrop of Celtic and Norse mythology, “Hellblade” follows Senua as she descends into the underworld where she is met by monstrosities created by her reality and degrading mind.
To be released through PlayStation 4, the website states that the game had been created through the developer’s collaboration with neuroscientists and people who live with psychosis.
The game is set to be released on August 8th in both PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows.
