The fourth novel within Steig Larsson’s best-selling and award-winning Swedish crime series, “Millennium Trilogy”, “The Girl in the Spider’s Web” follows Lisbeth Salander as she attempts to track down someone in her past and stumbles upon the elusive, Spider Society.

In 2011, Mara played the character which took cues from both her characterization within the source material and the original Swedish production which enlisted actress, Noomi Rapace.

The movie would be the first one to be adapted straight to an English-language film unlike its predecessors, “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo”, “The Girl Who Played with Fire”, and “The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets’ Nest” which had all been Swedish.

Alvarez who wrote and directed the successful Crime/Thriller flick, “Don’t Breathe” had been positive with the recent developments within the film’s pre-production stage and is thus reported to be more than excited to carry on with the project.

The movie, “The Girl in the Spider’s Web” is set to be released in October 5th 2018.
